An intimate, Orange County–based music festival and recording series capturing the spirit of western ruggedness and the California coast.

The One Last Ride vision began as Nashville musician Anders Swanson visited San Juan Capistrano, California. Searching for a way to bridge the gap between his Western roots and artistic influences, he began to form an idea for a music event in his home state. He desired to create a deeply impactful experience for artists like himself that offered community, opportunity, creative inspiration, and more.

Walking along the beaches of San Clemente led him to connect the dots between his affinity for the west coast, the unique history and landscape of Southern California, and the musical experiences that profoundly impacted his career living in Music City. From there, he began laying out a vision for an event that would further connect music enthusiasts to a unique cultural crossing.

Having constructed the visionary foundation, he desires to forge a path for artists, brands, local businesses, and all others in alignment with the One Last Ride vision to become part of a community-centric experience. Not only would this showcase emerging talent in a picturesque coastal location, but also provide enhanced consumer and commercial opportunities for all participants.

One Last Ride is the result of several puzzle pieces being fit together: music, community, belonging, and more all encapsulated into a single weekend-long event.

Event Summary:

One Last Ride will be a two-day series of live and recorded music events in Orange County, California aimed to create a unique experience centered around the intersection of wild Western and coastal California culture.

This event will host 3-5 prominent music artists that strengthen this brand identity and be comprised of two main features: a filmed studio session and a beachfront concert.

Beyond creating a memorable event for attendees, the project is aimed to provide enhanced partnership opportunities for businesses such as lifestyle brands, local vendors, creative service providers, and more.

In return, it will offer a curated experience for artists to showcase their talent in a picturesque oceanside setting and become connected to a community that strengthens their creative image.

The Recording Sessions

Each invited artist will get the opportunity to have a professionally-filmed studio performance in a recording space located in Mission Viejo, California.

There will be room for a small audience during this event and all performances will be professionally mixed/mastered for release on video and audio platforms.

This part of the experience will create polished media that can be used to continue showcasing One Last Ride beyond just the live performances and strengthen the brand’s online presence.

The Festival

The festival portion of the event will prospectively take place on the T-Street Beach located in San Clemente, California in early October with a lineup of artists performing throughout the afternoon/evening.

We are working with city personnel to create a designated area on the beach with a stage, vendors, merchandise, and more. Local businesses (restaurants, shops, hotels, etc.) will be encouraged to participate in the festival events however possible and also offer exclusive deals only available to ticket-holders.

Between artist sets, there will be special events hosted by sponsors, meet-n-greets with artists, a surfing competition, and more.

Proof of Concept

To effectively showcase this idea at a manageable scale, we would like to conduct a proof of concept event in early October of this year. The goal will be to demonstrate the creative, commercial, and cultural potential of One Last Ride with a lean budget and minimal logistics.

We are actively communicating with the city’s recreation supervisors to obtain proper permitting and licenses for the beachfront concert.

The studio portion of the event will be privately conducted with the invited artists, OLR staff, sponsors, and press/media representatives. The festival portion will be advertised to invited guests and a limited number of public RSVPs that will be guaranteed event parking and exclusive sponsor deals only available to ticket-holders. Beyond this, the event will be open to normal beachgoers/locals to maximize attendance and sponsor/vendor revenue.

Through this, we hope to amplify the One Last Ride story across social media, press, and beyond to set the stage for years to come.
